The Magic of Tofu


Tofu, also commonly known as bean curd, is made from soya beans through the process of curdling fresh soy milk. It’s essentially the same thing as soy milk, except in a more solid form, just like how cheese is made from milk!

As tofu is derived from soybeans, it is a great natural source of essential nutrients, especially protein. It’s also the only plant protein to contain all eight essential amino acids needed by the human body for healthy growth, making them “complete” proteins, just like egg whites and even chickens! In fact, many people might even be surprised to find that edamame, those healthy green beans you normally find in Japanese restaurants, are actually immature soy beans!
