While eating spinach won’t give you instant muscles like they do for Popeye, they can definitely make your body much stronger than before! Unfortunately, it also contains a chemical known as oxalic acid. Oxalic acid tends to bind with iron and calcium, causing your body to be unable to fully absorb these nutrients. In order to counter this, it is recommended that you take your spinach with some vitamin C-rich foods such as citrus fruits, tomatoes and others.
